Where we started
A&C Racing and Roping is located in Roosevelt, Utah and originally created by Albert and Chad Richard in the 80’s. The father, son duo fell in love with racing quarter horses and team roping. In 85′ they started their own breeding program, A&C Racing and Roping, short for Albert and Chad. Fast forward to 2009 the Richard family made history with their home bred mare: Runnning Brook Gal, winning the All American Futurity. Today the program is focused on breeding horses specifically designed for team roping. A&C is breeding own daughters of Brookstone Bay, Winners Version, First Down Dash, Mr. Jess Perry, PYC Paint Your Wagon, Walk Through Fire, Corona Cartel, Foose, Dual Rey, Highbrow Cat, CD Olena, Smart Chic Olena, Woody Be Tuff, Don’t Stop Believing and Hastags.
Where we’ve Been
Runnning Brook Gal makes history!
Runnning Brook Gal paved the way for the future of A&C. She made history in 2009 by winning the All American Fututrity. She was the first homebred Albert and Chad Richard had huge success with. Also being the first Utah bred race horse to win the All American Futurity. She has a LTE of 1.3 million on the track and has gone on to be a producer of over $300,000 of offspring on the race track and in the rope horse industry. Runnning Brook Gal is by the legendary Brookstone Bay and out of RJK Runaway. Throughout her racing career she had 13 starts and placed in the top 3 at 10 races. While the Richards raced many horses, there wasn’t one quite like Runnning Brook Gal. She was the underdog, the one who snuck up from behind and stole the race. After this legendary win, the Richards raced her in 2010 and then began her breeding career. We are still having babies hit the ground today that are own daughters of Runnning Brook Gal and Brookstone Bay

Broodmares
We have about 30-40 broodmares turned out on our ranch in Utah. Each mare has specific traits we hope to pass on to her offspring

Stallions
Currently in our barn we have three stallions we are breeding. Reys Smokin Dually, CC Brooks Big Boy and CR Woody Be A Dual (owned by Taylor Farms).

Futurity Horses
Our horses we raise come in all shapes and sizes to fit the many different needs. We have 100% cow-bred, the cow-run cross and 100% running bred horses.
Where we’re going
When you reach the top in an industry, that’s when it’s your turn to make a difference. The Richards have pro-rodeo’d and shown rope horses for the last 10-15 years. They went to the CFR, NFR, won the ARHFA Championships. And now the next chapter is giving back to the rope horse community. July of 2024 the Richards, Probst’s and many others worked day and night to put on a futurity that payed out over a million dollars. The Old West Futurity was life changing money for some of the ropers. There is plans for a 2025 Old West Futurity, so stay tuned for more information about it. Aside from putting on events, the Richard’s are constantly working to breed and train the highest quality rope horse on the market. These futurity horses finish their career at the end of their six year old year, the goal is to develop a pro rodeo ready horse. Something that is mentally stable, seasoned in the roping and ready to go down the road.
